Once again, I find myself hoisted by my own petard and, having become distracted by the myriad possibilities that the many-hued tapestry of life offers, utterly forgotten to pen in advance a suitable missive for your delectation and delight – or, more likely, your disputation and disappointment.
Actually, even more likely, your utter indifference.
Anyroadup, I find myself with just the scantest of moments to tell you about this week’s upcoming rawk’n’rollTM endeavours. And yet here I am, frittering it away on florid language and pointless rambling.
So, let’s cut to the chase –
Saturday March 4th – Cider Press, Gloucester Road
Not played here for a while, but it seems very likely that the general tone of the place hasn’t changed – we’re expecting a busy and noisy night, featuring a number of people whose naively optimistic expectations of their dancing (and, indeed, staying upright) abilities far exceed reality. In short, exactly like the Blue Lagoon, only 200 yards further up the road. On the plus side, I’ve just remembered the delightful lady who runs the door; she makes the big hefty bouncers in her charge help carry our kit in, advises us where to park so she can keep a watchful eye on the vehicles, and is a dab hand at rapidly removing anyone who looks like they’re about to fall over our monitors. We don’t know what happens to them afterwards, and we’re afraid to ask…
Next week, I’ll try to write this drivel in advance, so it’s a bit less disjointed and perhaps include some pictures. If you’re lucky, we’ll even let you colour them in…
