Ahoy there shipmates!
And, after a nice relaxing weekend off, it’s back into the fray for your favourite rock’n’roll heroes; with a rather busy three-gig weekend, of which the most salubrious seems to be in Dursley.
Just think about that, for a minute…
Friday 22nd – The Bulldog, Filton – 8pm start
I don’t think we’ve done this one before. In fact, I’m not sure if they have live music as a regular feature or not; certainly I’ve never met any bands who say they’ve played here, which either means they’ve only just started putting bands on… or nobody has played here and lived to tell the tale. We shall see…
Saturday 23rd – The Kingshill, Dursley
We have played here, a few years ago – at the time, there was a flying V hung up over the bar, and – if you were a sufficiently immature and tasteless guitarist, you were invited to play it. I do hope it’s still there.
Sunday 24th – Giant Goram, Lawrence Weston – 6pm start
See Friday 22nd. Actually, a dear and wonderful friend of mine lives close by, so I asked her if she knew what the place was like. Her eyes got real big, and she said, “You’re playing… there…?” before dissolving in fits of laughter. I could get no further sense out of her. Draw your own conclusions.
And that, my friends, for this week, is that.
Assuming we survive, we shall bring you a full report next week.
