31-03-2014 – Not a clue what e’s on about special

Yowsa!

Well, that almost felt like a weekend off, only the one gig, and it was even in Bristol, so we didn’t get home too late… except of course, that they shifted the clocks, so that in effect we got back too late anyway. Poor Lou was a very tired little bunny by the end of the night; still, the “playing with keyboards” experiment went rather well, apart from being a little bit of faffy rearranging of the stage in the middle of a set. Not to worry, I’m sure we’ll get the hang of things eventually.

We even managed to wheel out three new songs in one night, and, what’s more, we actually all started them and finished them at the same time. And, if I’m not mistaken, in the same key as well. It’s a bit of a shame about forgetting the ones we’ve been playing for the past four years, but you can’t have everything, I guess.

Plus, it was nice to see our old pals Muddy and Sarah, and although we had some very amusing conversations… sadly, on reflection, I don’t think any of it is printable, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Likewise, I’m hesitant to describe the conversation a rather odd gentleman tried to strike up with me in the toilets… I can’t even tell you what the four little girls, who banged on my front door earlier in the evening whilst I was trying to eat dinner, had to show me…

…Actually, it was rather a weird and disturbing night overall, now I come to think of it. You probably wouldn’t believe it if I wrote it all down. I don’t think I believe it, and I was actually there.

Right, coming up this week, it’s another local one…

Saturday 5th April – Railway Tavern, Fishponds
Ahh, back at dear old Queen Amy’s, looking forward to this one, should be something of a ballistic hoot, I reckon. And maybe, just maybe, I can persuade my lovely Dem to come out and support us in a beer-drinking capacity. It’s a dirty job, but somebody has to do it…

Square on, and don’t eat the yellow snoo-snoo*…

A
*…yes, it was that kind of a night…
